Tiger's-Nest Hike

Jomolhari Circuit Trek – Overview

The Jomolhari Circuit Trek (also known as the Jomolhari Lingshi Trek) is Bhutan’s most spectacular high-altitude adventure, combining pristine Himalayan landscapes, ancient dzongs, and deep cultural immersion. Beginning and ending in Paro, this 12-day journey takes trekkers through remote valleys, yak herder camps, and over two of Bhutan’s highest trekking passes — Nyile La (4,890m) and Yeli La (4,930m) — with breathtaking views of Mount Jomolhari (7,326m) and Jichu Drake.

Starting with a scenic hike to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, the route gradually ascends through pine forests and alpine meadows to the stunning Jomolhari Base Camp (Jangothang, 4,080m), one of the most beautiful campsites in the Himalayas. From there, the trail ventures deeper into Bhutan’s highlands, visiting Lingshi, Shodu, and Barshong before descending to Thimphu, the capital city.

Blending challenging trekking, cultural landmarks, and authentic Bhutanese hospitality, the Jomolhari Lingshi Trek offers an unmatched Himalayan experience for those seeking both adventure and serenity in the Land of the Thunder Dragon.
